The Riverpark Ripple - Vol. 1 - Issue 3 September 23, 2017
Hello Visitor,

THE RIVERPARK RIPPLE THANKSGIVING EDITION 2016

FLU SEASON

November marks the beginning of flu season.

The flu is a viral illness which is highly contagious.

The flu often starts very suddenly and can have many different symptoms. Common symptoms are fever, chills, muscle soreness, dry cough, and lack of energy.

In healthy adults, the flu can cause an illness that lasts only a day or two or can cause an illness that lasts for weeks.

In adults who are elderly or not in good health, the flu can be a very serious illness.

All adults should consider getting an annual flu Vaccination. This can be done at many drug stores or at your primary care physician’s office. If you have not had this year’s flu shot, we recommend making arrangements to do so soon.

If you have flu symptoms, please take take over the counter medications for symptoms. Please also stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of sports liquids such as Gatorade or Powerade plus eating chicken soup.  There are oral medications that if taken in the first 48 hours, will limit some of the flu symptoms.

Please also do not think twice about calling Tillman Medical Group to schedule an appointment if your symptoms are severe or your recovery not progressing as one would hope.  Dr. White is also ready to take care of those winter colds, sore throats, and sinus problems.

HOLIDAY HEALTH TIPS

If you travel, drive safely.

If you have low back problems, please stop the auto every 30-45 minutes and take two minutes to get on your feet and stretch.

Please eat reasonably during the holiday season. Try to fill your diet with meat, vegetables, and fresh fruits.  Try to avoid eating too many carbohydrates and sweets.

Please enjoy time with loved ones and take time to reflect upon the countless blessings that we have received this past year.

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!
